I know it’s not summer yet, but it’s summer in my heart and I’ve just been to the launch of a new spring/summer collection. I can’t make the weather change, but at least I can give you the impression that summer is close with some pictures from the new C&A collection.
The preview event of the new collection took place last Wednesday, at the AnnArt Gallery, in Bucharest. In a very beautiful gallery, we got to see the must-haves and the key pieces of SS2016, proposed by C&A. The collection is inspired by the art of travelling, by new places, specific elements and traditions you discover in different places in the world and “styled by nature”. The colour palette is dominated by earthy and aquatic tones, spice shades, highlighted with splashes of metallics.
The collection has 4 major themes: Journey, Oceanic, Travel and Denim. If I were to put it on in a single phrase, it would sound like this: “A JOURNEY to the OCEAN, involving some TRAVELling time in the most comfortable DENIM” 🙂
‘Journey’ is about long and lean shapes that emphasize ease and fluidity. Key pieces like the longline vest, palazzo pant, printed jumpsuit and liquid trench come mostly in neutral shades and animal and nature inspired prints.
‘Oceanic’ is all about blue and white and silver, and the key pieces are body-contour dresses, short suits and semi-sheer all-in-ones.
‘Travel’ is mostly about the mix and match of patterns, from neo-tribal and tile-optic to black & white jacquard designs. Mixing patterns correctly is not always easy-peasy, but it seems like C&A will give us a few lessons on how to do it. The key pieces: loose tunics and harem pants, accessorized with handcrafted jewelry and tasseled embroidery scarves, in a contemporary interpretation of the new bohemian.
C&A is well known for its passion for denim, so another ‘Denim’ collection was expected. It is one dedicated to summer so you’ll see some light-weight palazzos, but they cover all types of jeans, so there’s plenty to choose from, in many shades, from really light blue to dark blue.

A complete travel-ready collection, mixed with beautiful accessories, with metallic accents at very good prices. This is a collection you should go and see when it hits the stores.
