The MET Gala happened a few days ago. It is supposed to be the most stylish event of the year, where we should see some of the best fashion creations, a little out of the ordinary maybe, as it is the night when some celebrities dare to take fashion risks.
This year’s event theme was “China: Through the Looking Glass””.
In my opinion, no matter the theme, no matter how much of a risk taker you are, fashion should be about beautiful clothes that make you look and feel beautiful. Now, I don’t know how these celebrities felt in their outfits, but I can judge how they looked.
I really have a hard time understanding this trend of barely-dressed. If you really like to show it all, why not take it to the next level and be the ultimate risk taker: come in your underwear or naked. You’ll make history!
I get it you can go BIG at the Met, but still, this is a Gala, so there’s a fine line between a more “dramatic” look and ridiculous one. I know I’m being harsh on them, but I’m just tired to see that sexy meens almost naked for a lot of them, and this is the message young girls receive. So, girls, put some fabric on! You all look so much better…
Some celebrities had really beautiful dresses that showed impeccable taste and chose outfits that respected the theme.
Look of the night in my opinion: Fan Bingbing; this is what MET Gala is all about…Theme: checked; Drama: checked; High fashion: checked (and a lot easier to wear & walk in it).
